10 Questions with Dustin Wadley
(A Springfield marathon runner)

1. At what age did you start running competitively?
I started in 7th grade, 12 years old I think.

2. Why did you start running?
I was too skinny and short for anything else.

3. How many miles do you typically run in a week?
I run 0-6 miles per week. When I was marathon training I ran up to 40ish a week. My knees bother me too much right now. I'm mostly confined to the bike.

4. What is your favorite brand of running shoes?

5. Do you listen to music when you run? If so what do you listen to?
Yes...Beastie Boys, As I lay Dying, Phil Wickham, Living Sacrifice, Rage Against the Machine,U2, Joshua Radin, Jose Gonzalez, etc...

6. Where is your favorite place to run?
Greenways trail and east of Springfield in the hills

7. What is the farthest distance that you have ran?
26.2 miles in a race (twice), 20 miles in training.

8. Have you had any injuries related to running?
Yes, sprained ankles, and I seem to have chronic right knee pain and inflammation now.

9. What has been your most memorable running experience?
Running the Flying Pig Marathon completely in the rain, getting heartbreakingly close to running sub 5:00 in the mile (5:05) running a 17:30 5k, and a 3:48 marathon.

10. What advice would you give to beginning runners?
Keep a shoe log and change them every 500 miles, have PR's in mind when running races.
