Coach Donnell has been the Head Coach for the past five seasons. The team has earned six team awards in that span. The team earned four runner up awards and two third place awards. The team has had a total of nine state qualifiers and three state medalists during Donnell's tenure. Before coming to Glendale, Donnell was the Head Wrestling Coach at Hickman Mills High School located in Kansas City, MO for the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 seasons. During those two seasons Donnell coached 2 all-conference wrestlers. Coach Donnell did his student teaching at Sherwood High School in Creighton, MO and was a volunteer wrestling coach during the 2007-2008 season. At Sherwood coach Donnell helped coach two state qualifiers. Coach Donnell was an Assistant Wrestling Coach at Republic High School from 2001-2006. During the five seasons the team finished with an overall dual record of 32-17. There were seven state qualifiers and they brought home four state medals which were the first state medals for wrestling in school history. As a team they finished in the top twenty at the state tournament four times. Four of the Republic wrestlers went on to wrestle in college and one of them was part of two Division I National Championship teams as a member of the Oklahoma State Cowboys. Coach Donnell attended Parkview High School and competed in wrestling, cross country and track and field. Donnell received an Associates of Arts Degree and a Business and Marketing Certificate from Ozarks Technical Community College. A Bachelors Degree in History Education from Missouri State University and a Masters Degree in Educational Technology from Central Missouri University. Coach Donnell is married to Breanna Donnell and has two sons.
Coach Drake started his wrestling career when he was five years old. He continued wrestling for thirteen years and finished his career at Lee's Summit High School. He was successful as a youth wrestler as he placed in the youth state tournament 6 out of the 7 years he was eligible. At Lee's Summit he was a three time state qualifier and placed fifth in the state tournament at heavyweight his senior year. He competed in the 2013 Metro Classic and won his match to help Missouri to a 27-25 win. During his senior year he finished with a record of 30-6, and was awarded all-state, and academic all-state. He is currently attending his third year at Missouri State University seeking a degree in communications.
